Oak Island is a barrier island located 30 miles south of Wilmington, North Carolina and 73 miles north east of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. The island is quiet and friendly and the perfect place to quiet yourself so that you can work on your project.
Our retreat is located on the north side of the island a few hundred feet from the Inland waterway. It is within easy walking distance of the ocean and the waterway/marina. The center of town is two blocks from our retreat. You will have your private entrance.
You will have a studio apartment with a full kitchen, full bath, bedroom and living area. Reference books are available. The studio has television/dvd and radio/cd for your use. All rooms are comfortable and quiet. The bedroom is roomy and also comfortable.
You are welcome to use the areas outside where you can sit in the swing or the sun.

Region: Oak Island is a barrier island between the Atlantic Ocean and the Inland Waterway at the mouth of the Cape Fear River. Bald Head Island, Southport, Wilmington, and Myrtle Beach are all an easy drive. Other writers live in the Cape Fear area. Wilmington is called Hollywood East or Wilmywood.
